Channa Masala and Naan

I just love ethnic food! I have never cooked Indian food before (besides a simple curry) and today I tested my skills. I just threw things together that seemed like they would work, and BAM! They sure did work. :)

Channa Masala recipe:

In a pan, put the following ingredients:
-1/2c tomato sauce
-1/2c cooked chickpeas
-1.5 tsp curry powder
-1/4 tsp garam masala spice
-1/4 - 1/2 tsp salt
-1 Tbs nutritional yeast

Bring to a light boil and once it's simmering, let it simmer for 5-10 minutes

Serve with...Naan!

Naan recipe:

In a bowl, mix together the following ingredients:
-1/3c flour (I used barley flour)
-2.5 Tbs unsweetened almond milk
-1 tsp agave nectar
-1/4 tsp salt
-1 Tbs nutritional yeast
-1/4 tsp garlic or onion powder

Mix until it forms into a dough.
Let it sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before using.

How to prepare the Naan:

-Roll out the dough until it's about 1/4 inch thick and in a circle shape
-Grease a pan with 1 tsp oil and lay down the dough
-Let cook for 2 minutes, then flip. Cook 1-2 minutes, flip, cook for 1 more minute, flip to check if it's done, and it it's not, cook for 30 seconds to 1 more minute.
(It should be golden brown with the texture of a more dense pancake, but not burnt or too toasted)

Serve Naan with Channa Massala and your taste buds will be traveling to India!
